Globalisation and the expanding EU present huge opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as risks. Bearing these challenges in mind, FIT4export of the International SEPT Program at Leipzig University offers a range of services to companies that combine applied research, consulting, and training experience to contribute to the successful development and optimisation of international activities.
FIT4export is the right partner for German companies that want to enter new markets, as well as for international companies who want to successfully establish themselves on the German market.
Due to its university affiliation, FIT4export’s focus lies on research and knowledge transfer. We offer coaching and training on topics such as export management and international marketing. Due to our extensive international network, research on markets that are difficult to access and specific contract research are no problem.
Connecting international students with companies to the benefit of both parties is the third key aspect of our work. Students can learn from companies’ experiences and these in turn can profit from the knowledge of the students.
At FIT4export we want to make the resources and international experiences of the SEPT program accessible to the business sector. We focus on the following four areas:
Training

What does SEPT stand for?
SEPT stands for “Small Enterprise Promotion and Training”. It is a research, education, and service provider based at Leipzig University. For over 15 years, we have supported small and medium-sized enterprises with the development of new business models and the implementation of innovation management tools. From 2015 on, we have supported the private sector in its internationalisation efforts through the FIT4export initiative.
Our international master’s and PhD students and staff members are the best example of our strong international orientation. The consulting services and support we offer is based on our numerous global export activities. For example, we successfully exported our SEPT MBA program to Ho-Chi-Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam.
